When the issue of sexposition came up during the first season, I largely defended the show’s usage of sex, except for Littlefinger’s speech while Ros and Aremca were moaning away. It felt as if it could be a fairly reasonable representation of the level of sexual content in the books, if not its precise nature.

With season two, it became more and more obvious that it just doesn’t match up. The only explicit sex is non-romantic sex and it focuses almost exclusively on naked women. In the books, the sex can be messy, awkward, gritty and in other ways explicit even between couples and not just between customers and whores. The books also do not shy away from male nudity, far from it.

On the show, romance seems to put a stop to anything more “dirty” going on; just look at Renly and Loras, for example. Or Shae and Tyrion.

And now we have the Empire Magazine interview with Neil Marshall where he says he was encouraged to go with full-frontal nudity by one of the executive producers. Who also added that he represented the “perv” part of the audience…

I guess that sort of puts the nail in the coffin?

Just one more reason to be deeply disappointed with D & D’s handling of the material.

Ah, the picture grows clearer. In a warped sort of way. Apparently my “Purist and Proud” post is somehow perceived as an attack on posters on Tumblr?

Well, no, it wasn’t aimed at Tumblr fandom in particular. It was aimed at those who sneer at those of us who want the show to be more faithful.

Your delusion of grandeur may lead you to thinking that everything I post here is about you, but sorry to disappoint, that isn’t true.

And as usual, the trolls fail at reading. Maybe it is dark in their dank little caves?

I did not say that it is only okay to criticize the show and not those involved. It is perfectly legitimate to criticize producers, writers and actors for their work if you have an issue with it. It is not alright to do so in a way that attacks their person rather than than critiques their professional output.

Saying that you dislike an actors performance or that you think an actor is wrong for a certain role is not a personal attack.

As for the sad twats once again equating “purism” with “racism”, you give me a good laugh each time you try that particular stunt. Judging by how it is phrased this time, you really have a lot of silly hang-ups in the US, don’t you? Well, they’re not relevant to me.

I wish GRRM wrote every episode. At least the story and the dialogue would feel like A Song of Ice and Fire then, even when there’s added scenes such as the one with Bronn and the Hound. That dialogue felt as if it could have come from the books.

Of course, not even he can get Lena Headey to actually play the real Cersei or to act in a fashion that isn’t more obnoxious than anything else, but at least she’s saying the right words.

Unfortunately, he didn’t write the next episode. The House of the Undying will be a painful experience.

I appear to have picked up a fan who seems very fond of long, rambling attempts to tell me how I should or shouldn’t act.

Really, it is none of your business, so I would suggest you save your energy for something else. If you can’t cope with my choice of words, just don’t read my posts. Because I promise, I won’t be changing. If someone throws unfounded accusations at me, I reserve the right to answer in a not so nice fashion. If you act like a cunt towards me, I will call you a cunt.

You may think what you want about this, of course, but it doesn’t affect me. The accusations thrown at me are either baseless — I know that my opinions are nothing like what others make them out to be — or simply irrelevant to me — I don’t see a problem with cursing at people who are abusive towards me — so you can ramble all you want, it doesn’t change a thing.

Of course, if you’re having fun, knock yourself out.

In King’s Landing, King Baelor’s piety has become an uncomfortable reality for the court. First, he expelled all the whores from the city. Then he annulled his marriage to his sister Daena. Now he has decided to lock his three lovely sisters up, so that their beauty may no longer tempt men to sin. What next? No one knows yet, but the kingdom is well aware that Targaryen madness comes in many flavours. Meanwhile, Prince Marence and Lady Yronwood have come to an agreement that left neither of them particularly pleased and the Martell host has subsequently returned to Sunspear. Many now fear that the end to the Yronwood rebellion will only lead to more dissent among the prince’s vassals about his weak, indecisive rule.

Blood of Dragons is set in the low-magic, medieval-inspired fantasy world of George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” (and the HBO series “Game of Thrones”). Knowledge of the books is helpful but not required for players with some MU*ing experience and the game’s website is continuously being expanded with more resources.

The game takes place 140 years prior to the start of the first book, “A Game of Thrones”, allowing players to explore a less defined period in the history of Westeros while still experiencing how past events referenced in the books may have played out. The roleplay is focused on the political and social interactions at the courts of King’s Landing and Sunspear, with players taking up characters from various noble households. Players have a choice between CGing a character themselves or taking up a previously played, fully pre-generated role. Choose the latter option and you can often be ready to roleplay within minutes.

Blood of Dragons is focused on offering high-quality roleplay in a rich, immersive setting with a strong sense of history and continuity and we strive to be approachable and helpful. If you find yourself interested in the game, the following links provide some good starting points:

And of course none of the little girls have admitted to their mistake. I do love being proven right about what pathetic cowards they are.

I really, really cannot get over how stupid people must be to misinterpret that post.

Just look at this: http://hippoiathanatoi.tumblr.com/post/23413304765/i-dont-care-if-something-he-said-invalidates-the

How can you fail to see that the first portion is something I quoted from someone else and which I then go on to refute? No, I don’t name the person being quoted, but the post a) uses the quote function which clearly marks the text in question as separate from the following text and b) the following text is clearly constructed as a response/rebuttal to the quoted text.

Now, it may be true that the best chance I would have of getting an intelligent conversation around this place would be to talk to myself, however, I am not usually in the business of responding to my own posts.

Ah well. Again, thank you so much everyone for proving my point. You can barely read and you don’t ever bother questioning what someone else claims if it is an attack you agree with. You just jump on the bandwagon, not noticing that it is about to drive off a cliff.

Dear cuntofbearisland, please look at all the posts on Tumblr regarding that lovely little snippet you posted. I didn’t quote it to make you look bad, I quoted it to respond, and then a bunch of your fellow cunts decided to attribute the quoted text to me.

That is about the only thing around here that is likely to annoy me a touch; I have no interest in being blamed for the inane opinions expressed by others. If you want to whine about something I’ve written, go ahead, but attacking me based on something I didn’t actually write is a different matter.

Now I am just waiting to see if anyone will admit to having made a mistake.
